In the Beginning …<\/h3>\n

[one_third] British owned Riad in the Medina of Marrakech; located in the Royal Kasbah district a 10 minute lazy stroll to the main square (Jemaa el Fna) and the World Famous souks.[\/one_third]<\/p>\n

[two_thirds_last]In 2005 Simon Hawkesley and his family arrived in Morocco for a holiday. Consequently, over the next 2 years, they spent further available holiday times visiting and scouring the streets within the Medina of Marrakech looking for a Holiday Home. The Imperial Kasbah (1st Citadel of the Sultans of Morocco) became the most appealing. A little house in the Kasbah (definition of Riad Laksiba) was purchased.[\/two_thirds_last]<\/p>\n

\"ThisDue to global economic circumstances, owning a Holiday Home for quiet enjoyment became impractical and Riad Laksiba had to become self-funding to stay in our ownership. In 2010 we took the plunge and Riad Laksiba enjoyed an entire restoration, in keeping with the Marrakech UNESCO World Heritage status, an “Old Palace” style<\/strong> was contrived<\/p>\n

Twist of Fate<\/h3>\n

We were invited to participate and be filmed for House Hunters International; an American TV Show dedicated to owners buying abroad.<\/p>\n

\"ThisSeptember 2010 the TV show was rolled out to a Global Network of some 97 Million homes. Now regular repeats. October 2010 we felt the Marrakech climate was right to “open the doors<\/em>” of our special Riad home for guests to enjoy and sample the immediate community that has given so much pleasure. Amazingly our first guests came from as far away as Canada and Azerbaijan. The TV show “struck a chord” to many travellers visiting Europe who felt a budget trip to Marrakech could be squeezed in.<\/p>\n

Today : We have hosted guests from all over the Globe…. but mainly British. Some booked onto Yoga Retreats, some renting Riad Laksiba Exclusively for family and friends, others just a room for a night whilst passing through.<\/em><\/strong>
